Franklin 40, Hanford 38 (OT)

Kayla Williams and her fellow Franklin seniors didn’t want to go home empty-handed.

After a deliberate start that saw them fall into a 14-6 hole, the third-ranked Quakers (24-4) rallied to assure themselves of as trophy.

“We’re correct trying to go aloud with a handle roughly,” the 6-foot Williams said.

Williams, who came up big Friday through 11 points and 10 rebounds, is undivided of nine seniors on this team who came into the tournament thinking about a state title. Those hopes ended quickly as Franklin lost its opener Wednesday to Enumclaw — in overtime. But the Quakers eliminated Auburn Mountainview the following day and now play at 11:30 a.m. today to decide fifth and eighth places.
